About us: how Contrast Tattoo began

Art was never a hobby. It was my identity.

I am Amedeo – an artist by passion ever since I discovered my talent for art at the age of seven. I come from an artistic family and was able to present my first own art exhibition at just 14. Art was never just a hobby for me – it has always been part of who I am.

Where art became skin.

Eight or nine years later, I discovered my fascination with tattooing. Through my mentor, who now runs his own tattoo studio in England, I learned not only to practise this profession but to love it. He showed me that tattoos are far more than motifs on skin. Because to me, a tattoo is not a canvas you hang on the wall. It is personalised art. It carries a story, a memory, a feeling. It is immortalised on the skin – forever. You don't take it off. You carry it with you through life. Contrast Tattoo was born from exactly this understanding.

Why the name Contrast?

The name stands for what art is all about: contrast.

Without contrast there is no depth. No impact. No visibility. Only through contrast does expression arise – and that is exactly the expression I want to create for my clients.

More than a studio. An attitude.

After more than 15 years of experience in various studios in Switzerland, Germany and other countries, I made a deliberate decision to go independent. Too often I had seen clients not truly being heard or their wishes not being fully realised. I wanted to change that. At Contrast Tattoo, people come first. I take my time – from an in-depth consultation and an individual drawing to the perfect execution. Every design is made to measure. Hygiene, precision, preparation and the utmost care go without saying. My aim is to bring your vision into its strongest form – with respect for the art and for the meaning it holds for you.
